It's created for those who want to take growing their professional following more seriously and have a place to plan, write, draft, and schedule posts. It provides deep analytics and has some fun engagement features that help your content reach a wider audience.
Out of the two of us, Alex is the most active on X and he has found Typefully to fit right into his posting routine. I think the biggest win has been the fact that previous to using Typefully, he rarely posted to his personal LinkedIn (which is a shame because he has a great network that has accumulated over the years).
Since you can post directly from Typefully to X and LinkedIn, he started actually posting on LinkedIn more which gives the content a wider reach and more opportunities for conversations and connections. Why is it that the simple things that have the greatest impact? Gosh, this feels like it should be native to X, but it isn't.
Ever write the most thoughtful post on X, spend over an hour on it, just to lose it entirely because of a bug? My guess is that if you use X regularly, you've experienced this—no doubt. Typefully auto-saves as you type, which means the risk of losing your precious characters is gone and you can breathe a bit more easily. For us, Typefully is worth it for this alone.
Sometimes I have a vague idea of what I want to write about, but it's not quite flushed out and drafts is handy for that. Or Andra might have an idea for a post on X, and she can type in a few words to remind me to actually post it.
It might seem that some of your favorite people are always active on X. How are they always posting? Well, they are scheduling their posts ahead of time.
Scheduling can also be used to just delay posting. Sometimes my best post ideas come at 3 a.m. (Andra and I have an inside joke that I often decide to get into in-depth software features and news just as we're going to sleep 😄), and when that happens, I just want to write out my post and schedule it in the morning instead of blasting it off into the internet in the middle of the night.
And the truth of the matter is, even when I want to post right away, using Typefully is helpful (not only because it allows me to post on LinkedIn also), but because I don't get sucked into my X feed suddenly. It's easier to use Typefully and not get distracted.
These are engagement features, and they get more useful with the larger following you have.
Autoplug. Say your post goes viral and you want to plug your business in the comments section. With Typefully you can schedule an auto-plug if your post reaches a certain threshold of engagement that you set ahead of time. You would have probably seen some people doing this on X.
Auto-Retweet. You can automatically schedule your posts to re-tweet to ensure they are seen across multiple timezones.
Auto-DM. If you want to giveaway something to people that DM you, you can auto-schedule a reply.
If you're serious about growing your X audience, Typefully analytics are better than the ones offered by X natively. You can get a better idea of your impressions, engagement rate, and how your profile conversion rate is performing. Again, the more followers, the more helpful the analytics get.
The only limitation we've experienced is when tagging others.
The experience is better for X, you just need to know the exact handle of the person or company you want to tag (aka Typefully doesn't auto-suggest accounts like X does). If you write the correct @handlename, Typefully posts as you'd expect 👌
LinkedIn is a bit more tricky, because Typefully doesn't currently support tagging in LinkedIn. This means that I'll often post, and then go and edit the LinkedIn post to tag others. This is more so a limitation of LinkedIn's API rather than Typefully.
Typefully is the best social media scheduling tool for X and LinkedIn. If you also need to post on Instagram, then you can consider a platform like Buffer that allows you to post to all three platforms, but if you're looking for a social media scheduling app for X specifically, Typefully is your best bet.

Yes, Typefully is worth it if you are wanting to take growing your X and LinkedIn following more seriously. The UX is minimal and doesn't suck you into consuming content (like posting on X and LinkedIn directly does).
It's also incredibly useful for any social media managers (or ghostwriters) that are writing on behalf of another individual or company as you can easily switch between accounts.
Typefully works with X (Twitter) with an incredibly deep integration, and LinkedIn (with a bit of reduced functionality due to LinkedIn API limitations).
Currently you cannot mention people or companies on LinkedIn with Typefully due to API limitations. The team has said they are working on the ability to support @mentioning companies, with the hopes of eventually being able to @mention people as well.
