As a thank you, they give us a small affiliate commission at no additional cost to you. From their perspective, it is simply a marketing expense. This is what allows us to keep the website free for everyone to use.

Using coupon extensions like Honey, Rakuten, or other deal sites can override our link. If that happens, the discount will usually disappear and we cannot manually restore it.
