That said, if you sign up with your .edu, you will not be able to migrate your account or data to a personal or business account in the future. Motion App does require a credit card for a 7-day free trial, and if you don't feel comfortable doing this, you can simply use a virtual card and set a limit or freeze the card after claiming your free trial. They do not pre-auth the card, so you can set the card limit to $1 using a virtual credit card platform for your business like BILL Spend & Expense or Ramp.
