Review Summary

Review Summary

Tatem is a super minimal email client, but the team behind it was acquired by Wander.

From what we can tell, the product does not seem to continue to be developed or maintained. It may still work for now, but the future is unclear. We would skip it and go with a more actively supported email client instead.

What is Tatem?

What is Tatem?

At the time of writing, the app still works. But its long-term future is unclear and may shut down. Check out our list of the best email clients instead.

Tatem was built as a more affordable alternative to Superhuman Mail with the promise of a fast, minimal, keyboard-driven email experience minus the premium price tag.

From what we’ve seen, the product focuses on speed, simplicity, and a clean interface. Think: “Superhuman-lite.” Inbox splits, minimal UI, and quick interactions, without as much depth.

But it's worth mentioning that Tatem has recently been acquired by a company called Wander, and the founder now serves as VP there. Based on what we can tell, this appears to have been an acquihire and it doesn't look like Tatem will continue to be developed or even possibly maintained.

Who is Tatem For?

Who is Tatem For?

Tatem is for someone who wants an ultra minimal email client and is open to experimenting with a new interface, but also understands they may need to switch overnight. Given the lack of visible development, you should go in assuming the product could be discontinued at any point and be okay with that.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Tatem supports shortcut-based navigation via keyboard shortcuts. So, you can archive, snooze, and move through messages without reaching for your mouse, which naturally speeds up processing. The shortcut system isn't as in-depth or as polished as it could be, but it works.

Pricing

Pricing
  • Free Forever: $0 per member per month. That said, given the acquisition and lack of a clear roadmap, prepare for the product to be sunset in the near future.
  • While their website does have a paid tier, the tool is unlikely to continue to be developed.
