Tatem has been "on a waitlist" for over a year now. They seemed to be gearing up for a launch in 2024, but the team has since gone quiet on socials and Reddit, leaving folks wondering if they are still planning on launching.

Last we checked, it seemed they are hiring engineers, so they might still be working on something and haven't abandoned the project...so stay tuned?

After trying various link shorteners, I found Short, which was basic but met my needs.

But I didn’t switch to Short.io because it was a great solution – I did it because it was just adequate enough to do the most basic of redirects. Case in point: I never once used it for reporting because it was a complete mess.

Then I tried Dub and was drawn to how simple/clean the UI/UX was. I switched over from Short and haven't look back. Oh, and I now regularly check my reporting/analytics in Dub now as they have much more user-friendly dashboards.

What is Tatem?

Tatem is building a "fast email experience" similar to Superhuman.

We have yet to try Tatem, but from what we gather from their landing page, their value propositions are very similar to Superhuman:

A similar minimal aesthetic
Inbox Splits (a core Superhuman feature)
Fast loading and interactions
Keyboard shortcuts

Their pricing starts at $8/mo, so what we gather is they are trying to build a Superhuman dupe that is more affordable. While this might be compelling enough for some, we do hope the Tatem team surprises us with some unique features that are beyond the Superhuman experience.

Will Tatem truly be a comparable alternative to Superhuman? We'll update this review to let you know once we give it a shot, but for now, we have been using Superhuman for 6+ years and can say it's only getting better, so we're not holding our breath.
