ClickUp wasn’t first to market in project management, and instead of doubling down on building the best project manager possible, they went all-in on becoming an all-in-one tool. The result is a massive tool with a ton of features. The issue is that many of those features feel half-baked, more like boxes checked for the marketing page than fully developed functionality. So while they're certainly innovative in aiming to build a comprehensive all-in-one platform, the execution falls short in some areas.

AI Assistance

While ClickUp has implemented AI as a part of their tool, the sentiment seems to be mixed. Some users report that they're glad that ClickUp has AI, but it doesn't seem to be as helpful as they hoped. Folks we spoke to that use ClickUp as their main project management tool have said that they haven't adopted ClickUp's AI which means it's more of a secondary feature rather than a no-brainer to help get work done.
