FirstPromoter is only a "fit" for teams that want the most basic, bare-minimum affiliate setup and aren't concerned with partner experience, automation, or long-term scalability.
If you want the best content partners, use a modern platform that handles automatic payouts and deep tracking analytics like Dub Partners instead.

Basic affiliate and referral tracking for SaaS.

FirstPromoter is a legacy affiliate management platform used primarily by SaaS companies to track referrals, manage commissions, and run partner programs. That said, it relies heavily on outdated affiliate processes like separate logins for each program, and limited insight into which content actually converts.
As a result, it often creates friction for both companies and affiliates, especially compared to modern platforms that automate payouts, unify partner accounts, and offer deeper tracking analytics.
FirstPromoter is only a "fit" for teams that want the most basic, bare-minimum affiliate setup and aren't concerned with partner experience, automation, or long-term scalability. If you’re looking at FirstPromoter thinking, “it’s affordable and a low-risk way to test affiliate,” we’re going to be blunt: you're not actually treating affiliate as a real growth channel. Starting with one of the weakest platforms on the market almost guarantees your program will flop before it even gets off the ground.
FirstPromoter gives every affiliate their own secure, private portal where they can log in to view their own stats and access their unique referral links. Good right? No. Any serious publisher, creator, or affiliate partner works with dozens of brands at once. Having to juggle a separate login for every single program makes for an awful partner experience. More than that, we forget to even login and about your program... so if you're wondering why your affiliates aren't super engaged, using a platform like FirstPromoter is one of the first reasons why.
Modern platforms like Dub Partners or PartnerStack solve this with a single unified login that gives partners access to all the programs they’re part of.

We've used FirstPromoter with partners and we don't find the analytics helpful in helping us understand what content is converting best. The reporting is quite barebones and missing critical information like which pieces of content are converting best.
FirstPromoter just recently added this feature, prior to this you'd need to manually pay each partner (huge admin overhead). Now you can pay affiliates with one click (or just pay individual affiliates).
FirstPromoter allows you to enable W-9 and W-8BEN form collection from affiliates directly through the platform. However, this feature is not enabled by default and must be manually activated in your settings. Once enabled, affiliates can upload their tax forms, and you can filter and track who has submitted them. FirstPromoter does not automatically generate or send 1099s, you are responsible for issuing them based on your records and payment thresholds.
Why does this matter? Because now you've put admin overhead on yourself to issue 1099s and chase W-9's and W-8BENs (to everyone). So while you may be saving some money on the subscription cost, your affiliate program is now costing you more of your team's time. So save yourself the headache and use one of the best affiliate platforms that handles all the tax compliance stuff automatically.
Compared to modern affiliate tracking tools that are completely disrupting the space, like Dub Partners, FirstPromoter ends up just feeling incredibly dated and inconvenient for everyone, so no we don't think it's worth it.
