You know what is super annoying?
Having one piece of software, like your CRM (e.g. Copper, Pipedrive, HubSpot, Salesforce—doesn't matter which one).
And all your customer information neatly sitting in the CRM.
But then you need to do something else, like send a quote, or invoice a client in another software and you have to manually copy and paste details from your CRM into the other software.
So.bleeping.time.consuming. 😤
If you relate to this, say hello to your potential new favorite word (and ours): integration 😄
There are dozens of hours that can be saved by integrating software. In fact, in our busiest month, 153,000 automations were run across all of our customers.
To put this into perspective, that's roughly 2,550 hours (or 106 days) saved in a single MONTH. Or put differently, that's 85 hours saved - PER DAY!
Am I ready to integrate my CRM?
You are ready to integrate if you have a repeatable process. This means team members spend time manually entering the same data into multiple pieces of software and are doing the same tasks over and over again. This is work that is easy for computers to do and is often error-prone when humans are doing it. We cover 4 signs you are ready to integrate your CRM in this article.
Who is not ready to integrate?
Suppose you're still figuring out your processes, and you don't have a repeatable process (aka you're doing something different each time and your processes are evolving). In that case, it's best to wait to set up any type of custom integration. This is because integrations need to be programmed and told exactly what to do and it can get expensive to consistently alter a custom integration.
Quick note: Native integrations are typically developed by the software vendors themselves, and they are often included as part of the standard product offering. You can start playing with native integrations at any stage, as they are free and can typically be only used in one way (there is no customization). What we're referring to above waiting to invest in building a custom integration until you've nailed down specific, repeatable, business processes.
