What's the difference? Well, the sad truth is that while Mercury will give you a free account, they aren't willing to pay for an account that can't at-least deposit $10K in within the 60 days. Bummer, I know.

To redeem this Mercury promotion, you need to sign up and use their debit card to spend $10,000 over the first 90 days of opening the bank account up.
Downsides: To spend $10K on debit cards, you are 1) not getting any rewards, and 2) must have $10K in your account to spend $10K on a business debit card.
So here you are, essentially having the same requirement as the $250 deal ($10K in your account), but you also need to spend $10K, for which you'd actually get $200–300 in credit card rewards using one of the best expense management solutions on the market, like BILL Spend & Expense or Ramp.
What Mercury is essentially proposing here is giving you a delayed reward, and less than you'd make if you just did the first $250 offer alongside using a business credit card with rewards.
