Okay, so while we don't have Motion promo codes or a referral codes to offer (we tried—it introduces too much billing complexity for their team), instead we are going to be releasing a course of how to set up Motion for project management, including showing you exactly how we use Motion in our business.
Why should you care?
Over the past decade, before we were a software review site, we worked with hundreds of businesses 1:1 to help them set up their software stack, project management tools included. In the course, we'll share exactly how to set up Motion for businesses and teams.
After 7 years of using Asana, we switched to Motion and many folks have asked us since to share how we use Motion.
At first, we thought we'd simply make a YouTube video about it, but after thinking about everything we want to share, we figured it deserved a series of videos. So we decided to create a course, but instead of charging you for it... we figured what if we can give it away totally free to anyone at uses our affiliate link to sign up for Motion?
Instead of purchasing Motion App without a discount, you can make Motion pay for the course we're creating by signing up via the instructions at the top of this page.
How do you do that? Well, by using the link above to sign up to Motion, you're telling Motion that one of our videos, reviews, or comparisons convinced you to give them a shot.
As a thank you, Motion gives us a small kickback (at no additional cost to you). Affiliate is the cost of marketing in their eyes. And you get to benefit from it, by claiming freebies that other folks who sign up for Motion directly are not getting. 🤫
While the course is currently in production and not released yet, by using this form to sign up for Motion, we'll have your email address so we can send you the free course once released! As soon as it's ready, we'll send it straight to you!
If you've seen people on Reddit asking for a Motion referral, it's because once upon a time Motion did have a referral program. That said, it's since been deprecated. So if you're looking for a Motion coupon code, signing up through this page will ensure you get the best deal out there.
Also, if you use our link to sign up, you can also request that they extend your 7 day trial if you need more time to evaluate the tool. Just say that Efficient App sent you, and they'll be able to tie your sign-up back to our site to confirm!
Motion has been known for giving an up-to 50% off for students that sign up with their .edu domain. That said, if you sign up with your .edu, you will not be able to migrate your account or data to a personal or business account in the future. This means that you'll have to continue having your main calendar as your .edu domain.
If you sign up with Motion using your .edu email, you will also no longer qualify for the free Motion course as we do not make any affiliate commission in that case.
Motion has also been known to supply discounted licenses for nonprofit organizations. You need to verify that you are a proper non-profit before sign-up and you may need to reverify regularly in the future.
If you sign up with Motion as a non-profit, you will also no longer qualify for the free Motion course as we do not make any affiliate commission in that case.
Software affiliate gives us a small percentage of your subscription for the first year of you being a Motion customer.
The goal is that you keep using Motion for many months and years (with the help of our guidance in the course).
It means we're aligned to help you become successful with Motion so that you stick with it, and maybe we can help 20–40 people for every 1 person we were helping before. Because software hopping? It's out. And setting up software with stable/scalable processes, is in!
Scroll to the top of this page and sign up for your 7 day free trial of Motion by following Steps 1 & 2 above. Make sure the email addresses you enter to claim the course and the email address you use to sign up for Motion match so we can verify your purchase!
If you sign up to the team plan (minimum 3 seats), you'll automatically be locked in to a 40% discount.
Motion used to have a referral program which offered $100 off the subscription, and you'll see many people referencing it on Reddit especially. They got rid of this program over a year ago though, it no longer exists, so the Motion coupon code available here (the free course) is the only actual offer available.
If you sign up for the team tier (3+ seats) you'll be able to invite team members with central billing in the main account. Be sure to do it this way instead of having each team member sign up individually for Motion.
Motion App does require a credit card for a 7-day free trial, and if you don't feel comfortable doing this, you can simply use a virtual card and set a limit or freeze the card after claiming your free trial. They do not pre-auth the card, so you can set the card limit to $1 using a virtual credit card platform for your business like BILL Spend & Expense or Ramp.
There is none—it's the magic of how affiliate works (well... sometimes).
By using the link above to sign up to the app, you're telling their team that one of our videos, reviews, or comparisons convinced you to give them a shot.
As a thank you, they gives us a small kickback (at no additional cost to you), affiliate is the cost of marketing in their eyes.
This is one of the largest (somewhat hidden) industries out there.
When you buy that lemon juicer you found on Wirecutter, you're using their Amazon affiliate link, and they get a small percentage of that sale. In exchange, you got a pretty damn useful and deep dive comparison of lemon juicers. It's a win-win!
But you, you're a smart one, looking for software discount codes and promotions before signing up, just like us!
We've asked the software companies on our website if we could pass along a discount or deal, and sometimes they let us... but most of the time they can't due to billing complexities. Billing complexities are often the reason why you won't often find software deals out there.
That's where we've decided to step in and offer something to you directly from us, as a thank you for using our affiliate link, why? Because you didn't have to, but you chose to.
Software affiliate ranges anywhere from a small percentage of monthly spend (e.g. 15%), usually for the first year of a new customer to a small flat rate when you sign up. So if you're a solo seat account, on the lowest tier, and you cancel shortly thereafter—congrats! You just just got yourself any freebie we're offering by paying us less than a cup of coffee from your local Starbucks, gosh, talk about bargain shopping!
(And yes, we agree... It's ridiculously expensive, that's why we taught ourselves how to make lattes at home):
Started my "at-home" Barista Journey on April 21st. Here's where I'm at in just under 3 short months of making two single-shot 8oz latte's per day (comes out to about 150 attempts). ☕

We're investing any affiliate revenue directly back into creating more software comparison videos and software reviews. And as you'll see on our site, you'll only find modern software that we think is worth vetting (not every random tool that we'd actually never recommend).
With other review sites like G2 and other sites, you're actually getting pretty sub-par advice, and they just want your IP address to sell it back to the software on the site. It's clever, but just a race to the bottom. They don't care if you get value from their content. Though what we've seen is that on other sites, you simply click the link, purchase, and the site benefits.
We want to create more useful write-ups and videos (similar to that which sent you to this page right here), so we've decided to sweeten the deal.
I signed up with your affiliate link before seeing this page, did I miss out on the course?
That's the best part! If you signed up to any software on our site, and we later come out with a course, if we can simply prove the affiliate connection, we'll grandfather you into the course for free.
So that's right, just by exploring the software on this site and clicking links, you're potentially locking yourself into a future perk, how cool is that? Take Superhuman for example, you get a free 30 day trial if you use our link, and say we later release a course on setting up Superhuman for success, you get that for free.
Now go explore the other apps on our site and have some fun! Oh, but first, finish signing up here if you haven't already 😁
We got fed up with the B2B software review sites that we once loved. Sites that were once useful for finding the best software (G2 and Capterra) don't need to focus on giving value anymore as they just want your IP address and to identify you so that they can sell your data back to software companies to help them identify leads that go to their site (ever wonder why they pay you the $15 for a review? You give them all your information in exchange for that and they now know exactly who you are based on your IP Address).
First, we'll never sell your data. We use privacy focused analytics, we are a small business, and we (Alex & Andra), write 100% of the writes on our site. We evaluate every single software and put our reviews down on paper (well, digital paper) and videos. Here, you're going to get the software recommendations that we'd give to our customers and closest friends.
