Editor's Verdict

Editor's Verdict

If you're focused on using a CRM that just works out of the box for a small team, HubSpot is not the right pick. Its CRM is more of a gateway to upsell you on expensive marketing automation, and the email logging is a hassle, with a bunch of steps that need to line up perfectly. For small teams using the CRM day-to-day, it's clunky and sets you up for surprise costs later.

Monday, on the other hand, isn't really built for CRM-first workflows at all. It's more of an all-in-one project management tool that tacked on a CRM to chase more users. Setting it up for CRM use is a project in itself and usually means hiring a consultant just to get things running smoothly, especially if your team isn't huge.

So, if you actually want a straightforward, reliable CRM for a small-to-medium team, neither HubSpot nor Monday is ideal. HubSpot's CRM is a bait-and-switch for their pricey marketing suite, and Monday's CRM requires a lot of work before it's even usable. If you have to pick between these two for CRM, HubSpot is more user-friendly than Salesforce for large teams, but for smaller teams, both are a headache. You're better off looking elsewhere.
