You can get started with HubSpot, but it's far from quick or painless, especially for small teams. The interface feels clunky and dated, and there's so much layered on top, extra fields, properties, and customization, that you end up dealing with more system than you actually need. If you're just looking for a simple CRM, the complexity gets in the way fast.
Even basic tasks like email logging require everything to be set up perfectly, or you risk missing activity. For larger companies with admins dedicated to setup and training, this isn't a dealbreaker, but for smaller teams, it's enough friction that adoption stalls and you end up chasing people to use the tool. You can get up and running, but it doesn't happen in less than a day, and there's always another hurdle or bit of setup waiting.
HubSpot is more approachable than Salesforce for big teams, but if you're a small or midsize group wanting to move quickly, you'll hit roadblocks and silent resistance. You still have to push through a learning curve, and it never really feels smooth.
