Comparison Summary

Comparison Summary

Todoist handles basic personal task management and works if you just want to keep track of to-dos, but Reclaim AI is better if you need to block out time for focus and breaks on Google Calendar and mostly deal with internal meetings, not detailed tasks or external scheduling.

Only use Todoist if you want simple personal task lists; choose Reclaim AI if your main problem is defending focus time from internal meetings on Google Calendar.

Todoist gives you straightforward task management with lists, priorities, labels, and a couple of basic views. You get exactly what you expect: you can organize your own tasks, see them in a list or kanban, and, if you pay, use a barebones calendar view. Time blocking is possible but feels tacked on and limited. If you want to actually manage a bunch of tasks for yourself, Todoist covers the basics without much fuss, but don't expect advanced planning or anything beyond simple organization.

Reclaim AI, on the other hand, isn't really a task manager. It's built for people constantly stuck in meetings who need to carve out time for focus work and habits on their Google Calendar. You can enter some tasks, but the task features are minimal, just priority and deadline, with no real project management, collaboration, or big-picture task tracking. Reclaim expects you to use a separate task manager for anything beyond that.

If you care about managing tasks, adding them, organizing them, seeing what's next, and actually handling your to-do list, Todoist is the only real option here. Reclaim is for defending calendar space, not managing actual tasks. Go with Todoist if you want to get your tasks under control. Use Reclaim only if your main pain is having no focus time because of nonstop meetings, not if you need to actually manage your work.
