Comparison Summary
Comparison SummaryClaude helps with work, coding, and writing. Hermes is a free open source AI agent. Overall, we'd skip Hermes if you're planning to use it for business, especially since there are way better AI agents available that are ready out of the box.

Editor's Verdict
Editor's VerdictI don't think the question is Claude or Hermes as you'd be using both regardless, since Claude is not an AI Agent but just a chatbot. Plus it's more cost effective to use a chatbot for certain tasks, while an agent for another.
I use Claude mostly for research and designing contracts and proposals. An AI agent like Hermes is more like an AI employee that you can delegate work off to.
While Hermes is a free open-source agent, you need to know how to set it up, host it, ensure it's secure. Most people put it on a separate device. Personally, we do not recommend Hermes, unless you're just looking to learn how to set up an agent for fun. But if you're running an actual business, there are much more sophisticated agents that work out of the box (for example, we love and use Viktor in our business).
