What is Hermes?

Hermes is an open-source AI assistant you host yourself. You install it, connect a model, connect your chat apps, and it can do tasks for you. If you are not technical, do not use Hermes.

If you are about to hire an AI consultant who recommends that they put Hermes in your business, I would think twice. There are many AI agents that work right out of the box, and having to rely on a consultant to maintain Hermes is an overhead cost that is just not necessary.

For example, our team uses Viktor who works with us in Slack, and we are 1000x happier than if we had to maintain our own solution. For reference, we employ two full-time engineers who could setup and maintain Hermes, but it's not worth the cost of their time when better, ready-to-use solutions exist.
