Get through your inbox 2x as fast (for teams of all sizes).
We named Superhuman our top pick for the email app category, it is truly unmatched in the email client category. If you are someone who checks email multiple times a day and you want to have the best email experience possible, then Superhuman is your best bet.
If you're at all concerned about the price. It's probably because you're used to email being "free". But that's why they have a free 30 day trial because after you use it, you'll see the magic (and if you don't then at least you validated your decision otherwise).
We've used Superhuman for 5+ years and can't recall a single time where we were left waiting for the Superhuman app to load. It's instant, as are the keyboard shortcuts. Hit [c] and you'll be in a compose window a solid 2-3 seconds before any other email app loads. Email crashing? Doesn't happen with Superhuman. The team has put a ton into making it one of the most reliable apps we've used.
Split Inbox's is a key feature of Superhuman. Simply categorize senders or emails with a specific subject line to come into your inbox already categorized. This allows you to mentally be in the right head space when triaging through your emails and you don't need to worry about getting distracted by that newsletter or random email. For instance, we have all of our newsletters grouped into one Split Inbox, which I now check every Sunday (instead of daily). All of this helps us hit Inbox Zero more often as getting through similar emails at the same time reduces context switching and cognitive overload.
While there are other email tools that are experimenting with AI, we'd have to say Superhuman's is the best. It goes beyond the typical "length or shorten" email commands, and instead you're able to tell the AI to re-write an email in your voice that it has learned from your previous emails.
While Superhuman is the most expensive email app that we've reviewed, it's one that we cannot live without and have been happily paying for 5+ years.
Smart. Focused. Email. Fast, cross-platform email designed to filter out the noise - so you can focus on what's important.
Consider Spark mail as an alternative if you're looking for a better version to Gmail and Outlook, but are not quite willing to pay for your email client. Spark is similar to Superhuman, however if you truly want the best email experience, we'd still have to give it to Superhuman (when comparing Spark vs Superhuman, Superhuman just put so much TLC into their user experience and design).
Spark is a great email alternative if you have multiple email addresses, and you want one unified inbox for all of them. Picture emails from your multiple personal and work email addresses, coming into one unified inbox.
Spark automatically groups your notifications, newsletters, and emails from real people into three different areas, making your email much cleaner and easier to navigate. While users report that sometimes Spark makes a mistake when grouping notifications and newsletters, correcting it is super easy with just a few clicks.
On the paid tier of Spark, you get Spark + AI. With Spark + AI, you can ask the AI to generate a reply, change the tone of the email, or shorten or lengthen the response. While it sounds great in theory, we weren't super impressed by the results when we tried it as they didn't take the full email into account all that well and the reply written by AI was quite basic.
For Gmail clients only, Spark allows you to share emails across team members and communicate via the team chat feature if collaboration is needed. The ability to assign deadlines and team members to specific emails helps eliminate that "who is answering this?" feeling.
