Comparison Summary

Comet Browser lets you actually have its assistant handle your tabs, emails, calendar, and even browse the web for you, which Opera does not do.

Only use Opera if you just want a familiar browser with new animations, since Comet Browser gives you free agent features for research and shopping.

Editor's Verdict

Editor's Verdict

If you want a browser that actually brings something new to the table, Comet Browser is way ahead. Its agentic browsing lets you tell the built-in assistant to click around, fill in forms, or even hunt for promo codes while shopping, and it's the only one offering that kind of hands-on AI help for free right now. This is especially useful if you do a lot of research or online shopping and want the AI to do the heavy lifting, not just answer questions.

Opera, on the other hand, mostly just copies features from newer browsers and dresses them up with slick animations. Their Workspaces look cool but don't fully separate your environments, which is a big miss if you need clean lines between work and personal stuff. No mention of any agentic or assistant-driven features, so it's just a traditional browser with some visual tweaks.

If you care about having an assistant that actively helps you research, shop, or manage tabs by actually interacting with the web for you, Comet Browser is the clear pick. Opera doesn't come close on this front.
