From there, it compares behavior across your team. It looks at things like how top performers run calls versus average reps. E.g. it might detect that top reps ask more discovery questions, handle pricing differently, or bring up certain topics earlier. Those patterns get turned into insights.

Instead of managers digging through hours of recordings, Gong surfaces specific moments tied to those patterns. It can flag things like missed follow-ups, competitor mentions, pricing discussions, or deal risks, and then point you directly to the relevant part of the call.

Is Gong worth it? If you have more than 20-30+ full time sales reps and are feeling like "I don't really know what's going on in our sales process in terms of what's working" then Gong is worth giving a shot.

The more sales reps you have, the more value you'll get from it as that's when data becomes harder to understand at scale. With that, Gong should end up paying for itself with the insights it gives you. If understanding your sales cycle is not your problem, you don't need it.
