Comparison Summary

Opera tries to stay current with new looks and features, but underneath it's still the same browser, while Sidekick feels dated and its supposed productivity perks are now standard elsewhere.

Only use Opera if you want something familiar with a bit of polish; skip Sidekick since its design and features lag behind even Opera.

Editor's Verdict

Editor's Verdict

Sidekick isn't even in the running anymore since it's been acquired and shut down. Whatever productivity features it once had are now standard across other browsers, and its design feels out of date compared to newer options.

Opera might just be copying the latest trends and still has some privacy concerns, but at least it's an active, capable browser with features like workspaces and tab groups that actually work. If you have to pick between these two, Opera is the only real choice because Sidekick simply isn't a viable option anymore.
